On Thursday, December 14, the first internal scientific conference of the University of Belgrade - Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy – National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, called "ICTM - A step forward," was held.
A one-day meeting was held in the ceremonial hall of Hotel Yugoslavia, where the scientists employed in the Institute presented their scientific results achieved in this calendar year, as well as their scientific, innovation projects and cooperation with industry and economy, and two start-up companies that operate within the Institute.
On this occasion, awards were presented to the most successful researchers and praise to employees for their outstanding contribution to the development of the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy.
This meeting was also attended by members of the Management Board of the Institute for Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy, representatives of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, the International Advisory Board, expert from the World Bank, representatives of the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade - Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, the Serbian Chemical Society, the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, the SAIGE Project Implementation Unit and the Association of Institutes of Serbia.
The first internal scientific conference of the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy was held under the auspices of the Serbia Accelerating Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project (SAIGE). The SAIGE project, implemented by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia in partnership with the World Bank and the European Union, supports the transformation of scientific institutes in Serbia, including ICTM. During the first year of the transformation of ICTM, many organizational and communication processes were improved through the SAIGE project, and the ICTM International Cooperation and Project Office and the ICTM Technology Transfer Body were established. The first results of the transformation are reflected in a higher success rate in the obtained competitive projects compared to previous years, as well as increased cooperation with the economy, including consulting services. The positive effects of the transformation are particularly reflected in the strengthening of employee motivation and better mutual connection, the outcome of which is, among other things, the event "IHTM - A step forward."
