On December 21 and 22, a workshop was held at the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Mechanical Engineering on "Research Data Management." At this workshop, participants had the opportunity to learn about the processes related to research data management (the importance of open science and open data for researchers, writing research data plan, FAIR principles, data release, handling of sensitive data, and data repositories). The workshop was attended by 36 participants, researchers, and librarians from 19 institutes and faculties. The participants' active participation and numerous questions confirmed the importance and interest of both researchers and librarians in open science and research data management as an increasingly important area whose adequate implementation is increasingly becoming a prerequisite for funding scientific research work.

The lecturers at the workshop were the librarians of the Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Serums "Torla," Irena Nježić, the Institute of Technical Sciences SASA Milica Ševkušić, the Institute of Medical Research Milica Ninković, the Institute of Vegetable Crops Smederevska Palanka Ljiljana Radisavljević, the Institute of Nuclear Sciences "Vinča" Obrad Vučkovac, Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" Zorica Janković, as well as Dr. Matija Zlatar, principal research fellow of ICTM. The SAIGE project supported the initiative and helped organize this event.
