On September 22, 2025, the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy had the great honor of hosting Prof. Dr. Radenka Marić, one of the world’s leading experts in electrochemistry and sustainable energy technologies. The lecture attracted a large audience and sparked great interest.
Prof. Marić, who graduated from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, continued her academic and professional career in the United States. Since 2022, she has served as the 17th President of the University of Connecticut, an institution with more than 33,000 students.
In her inspiring lecture, she presented impressive achievements and ambitious goals, such as the already ongoing “zero CO₂ emission” strategy. She also emphasized opportunities for collaboration with students and researchers from Serbia. The lecture was delivered in a warm and engaging atmosphere, accompanied by lively discussion and numerous questions from the audience.
It was a true honor for the Institute to host Prof. Marić and present her with a certificate of appreciation for her lecture.
