The BIOLAWEB project was delighted to organize the Second Roundtable, bringing together international experts from NIVA (Norway) with key stakeholders responsible for water bodies and their monitoring in Serbia — including the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Serbia, Serbian Environmental Protection Agency, the City Institute for Public Health – Belgrade, and Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade.

We shared an overview of the results achieved within the project and discussed important topics related to surface water biomonitoring in Serbia, as well as the potential of applying new methods such as DNA metabarcoding.

One of the BIOLAWEB goals is to establish good communication and cooperation with the relevant institutions in Serbia, which will set the base for the future advances in the field of biomonitoring of water bodies in Serbia.
