BIOLAWEB scientific team has successfully completed the autumn sampling on lakes across Serbia. During this period, diatoms, phytoplankton, and macrophytes samples were taken from Savsko Lake, Markovačko Lake, Plava Banja, and Pečena Slatina, in the same locations as in spring and summer this year. These samples will be analyzed in partner institutions (metabarcoding), which will allow the identification of present organisms based on their DNA. The metabarcoding analysis will contribute to a more precise and efficient identification of present organisms, allowing for more detailed analyses of the ecosystems in these lakes. In addition to biological analyses, researchers will thoroughly conduct chemical analyses of the water.
