Polymeric materials

  • Synthesis of polymeric nanocomposites based on silver nanoparticles, unmodified and modified TiO2 particles and various polymeric matrices. Synthesis of hyperbranched polyesters and branched polyurethanes based on hyperbranched polyesters.
  • Synthesis, functionalization, and characterization of non-magnetic and magnetic macroporous copolymers based on glycidyl metacrilate (GMA). Analysis of sorption properties of functionalized copolymers to remove cations [Cu(II), Pb(II), Co(II)] and oxyanions [Pt(IV), Au(III), Rh(III), Cr(VI), Re(VII), Mo(VI) and Tc(VII)] from aqueous solutions.
  • Synthesis, modification, and characterization of polyurethanes based on different macrodiols [siloxanes, poly(ethers), poly(esters)]. Synthesis and characterization of polymeric nanocomposites. Biocompatibility analysis of polymeric materials.
  • Synthesis of asymmetric poly(ether sulfone) membranes based on GMA and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS) copolymers with integrated submicron particles using a combination of photopolymerization with a classic wet phase inversion process. Analysis of sorption properties of the membranes for detection of heavy metals, cationic and anionic dyes, and other environmental pollutants.
