Lecture - "From Chemical Bonds to Space: Exploring the Multiscale Through the Lens of Computational Chemistry"

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a lecture by Dr. Felipe Fantuzzi (Lecturer in Chemistry, School of Chemistry and Forensic Science, University of Kent, UK, https://www.felipefantuzzi.org) :

From Chemical Bonds to Space: Exploring the Multiscale Through the Lens of Computational Chemistry

The lecture will be held on Thursday, 05/09/2024 at 1:00 p.m., at Njegoševa 12, hall in the attic.

Dr. Fantuzzi's visit is part of scientific cooperation within the COST action MultiChem (CA20129 "Multiscale Irradiation and Chemistry Driven Processes and Related Technologies").

We look forward to your participation!

The success of our researchers - Innovation Cup 2024 organized by Merck

Marija Stefanović, a junior research associate at ICTM, participated in the Innovation Cup 2024, organized by Merck KGaA, from July 20 to 26 near Frankfurt, Germany. The Innovation Cup is a prestigious event designed for postgraduate students and postdocs to develop new innovative ideas and create convincing business plans for products in Merck's strategic interest areas. During an intensive one-week summer camp, participants collaborated in teams to develop and present their innovative solutions to a panel of judges. Marija was part of Team Synthetic Biology, which earned the 2nd Runner-Up position and a prize of 3,000 EUR. Merck may potentially implement the best ideas from the event. More information on the event can be found on the link.

MediCoRe hub - master courses, doctoral courses, summer school

DICATECh-Poliba (Department of Civil, Environmental, Land, Building Engineering and Chemistry of the Polytechnic University of Bari), the coordinator of MediCoRe hub, offers several master and doctoral courses, as well as a summer school for students and researchers who wish to study abroad and participate in research and educational activities in various scientific fields.

The master program in “Sustainable water and land management in agricultural ecosystems,” which will be reopened soon for new enrolments, refers to the Master of II level, equivalent to one year with 60 ECTS. All information about the program is available at https://www.poliba.it/it/didattica/master, and the application is available at https://www.poliba.it/sites/default/files/master/bando_selezione_master_ciheam_def.pdf.

This program offers the opportunity to obtain scholarships and accommodation.

Partnering with the Graphene Flagship

Project Polygraph (“Polymer/graphene heterostructures for physiological sensors”), led by Dr Marko Spasenović and funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia through the PRISMA program, has become a partnering project of the Graphene Flagship. The Graphene Flagship is a European initiative to bring graphene from laboratories to products, which brings together the entire European graphene community. By extension, our institute, ICTM, has become an Associate Member of the Flagship, which will facilitate the exchange of information and research between our researchers and other members.
